Least but not last. Thats what I would say about The First Purge. Even the movie latest and fourth part but they named it this way. I saw the trailer and honestly it didn't impress me much. I'm huge fan of The Purge movies but this film not gonna inspire me as much as previous ones did.
Ethan Hawke acted in first movie and you guys know that he's a fabulous Hollywood star who plays his role and character awesomely. So he did his job so professionally. Unique and interesting idea of the story attracted movie geeks all around the world. So thats why they made sequels again and again. I loved Election Year part very much.
If you Google The First Purge IMDb rating then you come to know that it hasn't been appreciated by movie lovers. They did love all of other films. Professionalism and hard work impress viewers. You know that audience always want to enjoy their free time. None wants to waste its money by watching a crap movie. Not an easy thing to earn appreciation especially in Hollywood film industry where plenty of film professionals do their best to provide quality work.
Major thing that can decrease fame of the movie is that no big name working in it. You know that people idealize film celebrities. A mega name in The First Purge could have huge effect on its popularity. They made a big mistake I think. They have to pay for that by earning less money on box office. I had some expectations but not only me but other movie geeks are disappointed. Lets hope they don't make a mistake next time.
